Best Mini PC for Fortnite
Picks refresh twice a day.
Ever since Fortnite upgraded to Unreal Engine 5, it has become a serious test for integrated graphics. Unlike Minecraft or lighter Roblox worlds, an entry-level Intel N100 or N150 Mini PC will struggle to hold 30 FPS in Fortnite even at 720p. To get smooth, competitive frame rates at 1080p, you want an AMD Ryzen Mini PC, and you need to pay attention to both the integrated GPU tier and the machine’s power limit (TDP).
How Mini PC iGPUs Stack Up in Fortnite (1080p Medium)
In Wccftech’s Mini PC gaming benchmarks, seven compact systems spanning AMD’s Radeon Vega, Radeon 760M, and Radeon 780M integrated GPUs were tested side-by-side in Fortnite at 1080p Medium settings:
| Integrated GPU | Tested Mini PC & Power Limit | Fortnite 1080p Medium |
|---|---|---|
| AMD Radeon Vega 6 | Xulu XR1 Lite | 51 FPS |
| AMD Radeon Vega 7 | Minisforum Venus | 57 FPS |
| AMD Radeon Vega 8 | Geekom A5 | 61 FPS |
| AMD Radeon 780M (35W) | Bosgame M4 (35W TDP) | 72 FPS |
| AMD Radeon 760M (65W) | GMKtec M6 Ultra (65W TDP) | 75 FPS |
| AMD Radeon 780M (65W) | Beelink SER7 (65W TDP) | 88 FPS |
| AMD Radeon 780M (60W) | Geekom A8 (60W TDP) | 90 FPS |
Two hardware lessons stand out from Wccftech’s chart:
- Vega 6, 7, and 8 are the real entry floor (~51-61 FPS): Budget Ryzen 5000/7030U Mini PCs (often found under $300) hover right around 50 to 60 FPS at 1080p Medium, whereas modern RDNA 2 and RDNA 3 chips (Radeon 660M, 680M, 760M, and 780M) push into the 70 to 90 FPS range.
- Power limits (TDP) and RAM bandwidth matter as much as the chip name: Notice that the Radeon 780M in the Bosgame M4 running at a conservative 35W (72 FPS) is actually edged out by a lower-tier Radeon 760M running at 65W in the GMKtec M6 Ultra (75 FPS). Meanwhile, that same Radeon 780M running at 60W-65W in the Beelink SER7 and Geekom A8 climbs to 88-90 FPS. Feeding a Radeon 680M or 780M with dual-channel DDR5 or soldered LPDDR5 is just as important so memory bandwidth doesn’t choke the GPU.
Flip On “Performance Mode” for 100-120+ FPS
If you play Battle Royale or Zero Build competitively, you shouldn’t leave Fortnite on DirectX 12 Medium. Switching Fortnite’s rendering API to Performance Mode (Lower Rendering Latency) disables heavy Unreal Engine 5 lighting and foliage, dramatically lightening the load on an integrated GPU:
- On a midrange Radeon 660M (Ryzen 5 6600H / 6650H), Team Pandory recorded ~55 FPS even at 1080p High, which jumps past 80-100 FPS in Performance Mode or Low settings.
- On a Radeon 680M (GMKtec NucBox M7, Ryzen 7 PRO 6850H with dual-channel DDR5), Team Pandory measured ~100 FPS at 1080p Low.
- On a Radeon 780M with fast soldered LPDDR5-6400 memory (Acemagic W1, Ryzen 7 255), BasicDadTech hit ~120 FPS at 1080p Low, which is enough to saturate a 120Hz gaming monitor.
(One quick OS note: Fortnite relies on kernel-level Easy Anti-Cheat and does not run on Linux or SteamOS/Bazzite, so unlike our DIY Steam Machine picks, you will want to play Fortnite on Windows 11.)
What to Look For When Buying
- At least 16GB of dual-channel RAM: Fortnite’s shader cache plus Windows 11 will cause hitching on 8GB or single-channel memory.
- Radeon Vega 7/8 or 660M on a tight budget ($220-$350): Great for 1080p Low or Performance Mode at 60+ FPS.
- Radeon 680M, 760M, or 780M for the sweet spot ($350-$550): Delivers 72-90 FPS at 1080p Medium and 100-120 FPS in Performance Mode (see our Best Mini PCs Under $500 and main Gaming Mini PC guide).
